Presentation
It has been a century since Ludwig Boltzmann's death, and his scientific works is still inspiring many research directions. They are made by different research groups but often show surprising convergences among different approaches.
The goal of this Workshop is to promote exchanges between these several
viewpoints, by gathering reserchers around the general theme of the mathematical
heritage of Boltzmann. A non exclusive emphasize will be put on the two
following subjects which have recently developed:
1) The study of the micro-macroscopic structure of kinetic equations
and its applications: energy methods, stability of equilibrium or shock wave,
hydrodynamical limit...
2) The study of kinetic models of particles systems with dissipative
interaction: cooling process and cooling law, asymptotic
behavior and self-similarity, clustering phenomena...
