Hydrodynamic limit and free boundary equation.
Abstract
In this talk, we study an interacting particle system. The particles of this system are located on the half-line, their velocities evolve according to Langevin dynamics and a pressure force acts on the last particle. The goal is to determine the hydrodynamic limit of this system. The particles are confined only by this pressure force : it implies that the limit density should satisfy a free-boundary partial differential equation. This is the main difficulty of this problem. After presenting the model and the tools used to study it, I will explain how to deal with the free boundary in order to complete the proof.
