Abstract : In this paper, we propose a new global method for estimating motion parameters of a camera which films a static scene. Our approach utilizes both images and optical flow, it doesn't need any pre-knowledge about the type of movement and deals with adjacent frames of a sequence. Thanks to an original model of camera motion, our method separates the deformation between two adjacent frames in two components: a similarity and a ``purely'' projective application. The similarity is estimated first from two successive images using a parametric motion model. The projective deformation is evaluated afterwards from the directions of optical flow vectors.
