| Abstract: | Abstract: I will discuss results for the derivative of the characteristic polynomial of a unitary matrix drawn at random from the Circular Unitary Ensemble (CUE). We obtain a formula for the non-integer moments in terms of a confluent hypergeometric function, valid in the limit of large matrix dimension. The approach is based on the theory of log-correlated Gaussian fields. I will discuss possible implications of our results for derivative moments of the Riemann zeta function. This is joint work with Fei Wei (University of Oxford). |
