Masters

The Master's degree in Mathematics and Applications of the MIDO teaching department offers in-depth training in mathematics for first year students (M1), in both fundamental and applied mathematics. The second year (M2) offers specialization courses to improve on applied or theoretical mathematics in view of pursuing a PhD thesis, and professional courses aimed at careers in actuarial science, finance and data science.

Master 2 - MATH

This specialty provides a general training on the theoretical and numerical aspects of random or deterministic modeling of physical, biological, economic, and other human sciences. It relies on the research subjects of the CEREMADE of Université Paris-Dauphine, but also on the École normale supérieure of Paris, the Observatoire de Paris, the Ecole des Mines, the EHESS and the Collège de France.

Master 2 - MASEF

The specialty of MASEF is a training in applied mathematics whose objective is to train mathematicians in quantitative techniques of asset valuation and portfolio management in finance and insurance.

Master 2 - MASH

The purpose of this training is to provide mathematics students with a solid training in statistical learning whose applications are focused on the digital economy and the human sciences in the broad sense. Driven by the exponential growth of the data flow (the so-called "big data") generated by applications as varied as biology, online commerce, imaging, video or language processing, learning (emerging field at the interface of informatics and statistics) with the peculiarity of offering both a vast field of experimentation for modern applied mathematics and industrial perspectives of which we are only beginning to evaluate the scope.

Master 2 - Actuariat (Actuarial science)

Actuary training is a scientific one, with a marked multidisciplinary character. Mathematics and statistics play a prominent role, but the formation also includes computer science, economics, accounting, law and English. The objective is to deliver an actuarial training compatible with the criteria of the Institute of Actuaries and the International Actuarial Association.

Master 2 - ISF (Statistic and Financial Engineering)

The objective of the ISF specialization is to train business executives with a good knowledge of quantitative methods, mathematical and statistical modeling and computer tools.   At the end of the training, studients will be capable of analyzing a problem, proposing and completing a solution, by taking charge of digital and computer processing trained in the specific techniques of the service industry (economic studies, marketing, production management, quality control, finance, insurance, etc.).

Master 2 - ISF - apprenticeship (Statistic and Financial Engineering)

The objective is to train students in financial instruments and reasoning, modeling and statistics, as well as the regulatory context for banks (Basel III), insurance (Solvency II) and management companies (AMF). For the different classes of financial assets (rates, credit, shares), studients will master the concepts, , the mathematical tools and the methods which make it possible to evaluate them (as well as their derivatives) and to measure their risks.
