Antonin Chambolle est directeur de recherches au CNRS. Il est spécialiste d'analyse, analyse numérique et optimisation de problèmes variationnels non réguliers, avec notamment des applications en traitement d'images et de données ou en mécanique. Il était, de 2003 à 2020, membre du CMAP, Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées, UMR7641 du CNRS à l'École polytechnique (Palaiseau). Il a dirigé le CMAP de 2009 à 2015, puis, après une année passée en temps que "French Government Fellow" à Churchill College, Cambridge et au Cambridge Image Analysis group (département de mathématiques appliquées et physique théorique, U. Cambridge), il a été jusqu'en 2020 président du conseil scientifique du Programme Gaspard Monge pour l'Optimisation et la Recherche Opérationnelle (PGMO, Fondation Mathématique Jacques Hadamard), et en 2019-2020 directeur adjoint de l'Ecole Doctoral Mathématique Hadamard (EDMH). Il est membre du CEREMADE depuis septembre 2020.
