Anti-harassment Charter

All those attending the conference undertake to have read and understood this charter.

During their studies or their careers, and particularly when they hold temporary positions, women in our scientific community are all too often the victims of inappropriate, discriminatory or even violent behaviour or comments. These situations have a detrimental effect on their professional lives, forcing some of them to give up or retrain. This state of affairs is partly inherited from the inequalities between men and women in society, and is reinforced by the very small number of women in our community.

This type of behaviour, whether sexist or sexual harassment, does not only affect women, but can also affect any type of profile and take different forms depending on the situation, particularly among LGBT+ people.

In accordance with the regulations in force, discriminatory attitudes, harassment, abuse of a dominant position and acts of retaliation are prohibited. The following behaviour is unacceptable:

  • discriminatory jokes;
  • personal insults, particularly of a discriminatory nature;
  • threats or aggressive behaviour towards another person;
  • psychological pressure;
  • non-consensual solicitation of emotional or physical intimacy;
  • unsolicited physical contact.

It should be remembered that overt or latent hierarchies in the research community can make it difficult to express discomfort.

Do you have any doubts about a situation? https://clasches.fr

If you think you are a victim or witness of discrimination or harassment, don't hesitate to speak to a member of the organising committee. We'll listen carefully to what you have to say and you can discuss the next steps with us.
